What is the class like?

If you have never seen or done MMA before you should read the "What is MMA?" link.

Fianna's beginners class is aimed at giving people an insight into the 3 ranges of fighting (if you don't know what that is, read this) and how MMA train those ranges.

The class begins with a good warm up which combines various exercises from general fitness, martial arts stretching, Shadow boxing, wrestling calasthenics, tumbling, and so on.

We then train various techniques, usually more importance is placed on general ideas than specifics.

You train with a partner throughout the class, so some people like to bring someone with them.

It is tough, and you will be doing alot of things you have never done before. Which is good, it will challenge you and make your body adapt quickly.

What will I get from the class

You will get back as much as you put into it. The harder you train the more you will get from the class. There is a saying in Combat sports (boxing, Mauy Thai, Wrestling, Bjj etc) "train hard, fight easy" .

Ultimately our goal as coaches is to make good fighters, that can fight well and then challenge us and make us better fighters.
